Next World Exhivision

2020

Under the theme "Bringing Color to Japan’s Cities and Society Through the Power of Art," Next World ExhiVision presents an art showcase across 71 digital signage locations in 8 cities—including Tokyo and Hokkaido—as of August 31, 2020. This initiative is part of a series of five projects launched as promotional efforts for the Japan Media Arts Festival.

During the state of emergency brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, many public performances were canceled under the call to "stay home," and countless artists lost their platforms to create and share their work. News broadcasts focused daily on infection numbers, and a sense of pessimism filled the public atmosphere. It was in this moment that a new idea was born.

「Next World ExhiVision」*
