We are pleased to share the release of the digital picture book Teeny and Mighty, a collaborative work with painter Yasuha Endo.

From 2020 to 2021, as we lived through the pandemic, our lives were transformed, and we came to witness various kinds of division. At the same time, we were struck by a sense that we had perhaps overlooked something important. A new perspective on life—one we hadn’t quite felt before—began to emerge. In an effort to hold on to that awareness, I wrote this story.

Yasuha Endo then spent nearly a year painting each page by hand using gouache on woodblocks, creating imagery that is both beautiful and richly textured. Jukan Tateisi composed the stunning original music that accompanies the story, transforming it into a new kind of picture book experience. The entire design was crafted by Seri Tanaka, and the digital production was carried out by Noriaki Tomomitsu, who also developed this website.

In addition, we’ve launched a crowdfunding campaign to turn this digital picture book into a printed edition. ちいさなものとおおきなもの

画家・遠藤恭葉さんと共作したデジタル絵本『ちいさなもの と おおきなもの』を公開しました。

2020年から2021年、パンデミックを経験したわたしたちの生活は変わり、様々な分断を目にすることになりました。同時に、何か大事なことを今まで見落としていたような感覚になりました。いのちについて、これまで感じてこれなかったような視点。それを留めておきたくて、物語を書きました。その物語に、遠藤恭葉さんがガッシュで木版に一枚一枚丁寧に、約一年かけて美しくも味わいのある絵を描き上げ、さらに立石従寛さんが素晴らしい音楽を加えてくださり、あたらしい絵本体験としてのこのデジタル絵本が完成しました。全てのデザインを田中せりさんが手がけ、デジタルを本ウェブサイトと同じく友光徳明さんが制作して下さいました。

この作品は、こどももおとなも一緒に、だれでも無料でオンラインで楽しめる絵本です。
