Gallery 10[TOH] is pleased to announce "The Host," a work-in-progress exhibition by contemporary artist Jukan Tateisi.

This exhibition is an experimental installation where the artist’s own body and voice are converted into data and deployed within the space as a specific "function." Located in a room hidden within a building near Yoyogi Station—tucked away from the city's clamor—the viewer undergoes a series of rituals, including the journey to the venue itself, witnessing the moment where the boundaries of the "individual" blur in modern society.

"The Host." This word signifies a master welcoming a guest, but simultaneously, a vessel for a parasite. Like a server in the depths of the internet, or the hollow body of a spiritual medium, the artist waits here quietly for your arrival.

What takes place is not appreciation, but a contract. Not a dialogue, but the assimilation of information.

When the "words" you carry are siphoned off as nutrients for the system, whose memories will remain? "The Host" interrogates the hijacking of self-portraiture in digital space and the ultimate destination of our emotions. We invite you to witness the conclusion with your own eyes—as a strictly personal experience.

このたび、Gallery 10[TOH]では、現代美術家・立石従寛（たていし・じゅかん）のワーク・イン・プログレス展『The Host』を開催いたします。

本展は、作家自身の身体と声をデータ化し、ある一つの「機能」として空間に配置する実験的なインスタレーションです。 会場となるのは、都市の喧騒に隠れた代々木駅近隣ビルの一室。鑑賞者は、そこに至るまでの道程を含めた一連の儀式を通じ、現代社会における「個」の輪郭が曖昧になる瞬間を目撃します。

「The Host」 その言葉は「客をもてなす主人」を意味し、同時に「何かが寄生するための宿主」をも意味します。 インターネットの深淵にあるサーバーのように。あるいは、霊媒師の空っぽの身体のように。 作家はここで、あなたの訪れを静かに待ち受けています。

そこで交わされるのは、鑑賞ではなく契約。 対話ではなく、情報の同化。

あなたの抱える「言葉」が、システムの養分として吸い上げられたとき、そこに残るのは誰の記憶でしょうか。 デジタル空間における“セルフポートレート像の乗っ取り”と、感情の行方を問う『The Host』。 その結末は、あくまで個人的な体験として、あなた自身の目で確かめてください。
